Healing is not a destination, it is a shedding & a re-shedding.. it is a ‘process’, a slow spiralling of deep transformation.
And so, whenever we think or speak about ‘healing’ we must manage our expectations and redefine what it means to live within the growth.
For rarely will healing happen as a lightning bolt, though of course on occasion huge shifts may occur, but the journey of healing is much more of a walk and not a race. It is the steady growth towards knowing & loving yourself.. a growth towards freedom, the freedom to be you.
As you progress along this path of ‘self realisation & re-membering you may not recall who you were when you began because you will be different. And because of this, ‘healing’ & coming to know yourself isn’t quantifiable.. there is no feeling of completion (there’s always new paths to take).
Like friendships or a book that you read that blows you away or through which you learn so much ...you can’t remember how it was not to know that content, or that person, because you do now. You have changed in the process of the friendship or the reading and yet by how much or what has been changed is in so many ways undefinable because you’re ‘living’ that change.
And so, you may think you’re always at the beginning for when you are finished with that book you don’t think “that’s it, I’m finished with reading forever, I know everything I need to know” you think “I want more” and a flurry of new paths open to you. The healing journey continues
Our learning will never end because our growth will never end. We live in the flow of constant change and although we cannot measure or see it we know how the paths are always leading us deeper, always showing us more of the universe ‘out there’ and ‘inside’.
Manage your expectation. This is not a race. There is no destination.
There is simply an unfurling, an unfolding, like petals opening from a cosmic flower.
